September Round-Up

September always brings that back to school feeling, plenty of energy in the studio, with everyone back at their desks and projects picking up pace after a very warm and enjoyable summer.

Project Updates

It’s been a significant month for Wendover Manor Care Home. The marketing suite opened, giving prospective residents and their families a first look at life at the new Salveo Care home. As architects and designers on the project since the initial concept design, it’s really rewarding to see the home taking shape.

Over in Education, planning has been submitted and registered for a new children’s nursery in Hornchurch. The development would provide places for 110 children, with outdoor play areas divided by age group and new soft landscaping. Work has also started on site at Fareham, a refurbishment project that will also create a 110 place nursery complete with a sensory room. Two really lovely projects that we are looking forward to progressing.

In our Hospitality sector, this month we are pleased to announce the opening of three new restaurants located in Hull, the Isle of White and Wrexham.

In the Studio

This month the team took part in an chairty fundrasing afternoon for one of our hospitality clients. We got stuck into a foodie themed quiz, with a few of us heading out, on the day itself, for breakfast at one of our locally designed and built restaurants. It was great to get involved, create awareness and show our support!

September also saw our interior team come together, pastries in hand, for an early morning lighting training session over breakfast. A great opportunity to learn and make sure everyone is aligned.

This month we held our quarterly team meeting, with each sector presenting their current projects to the wider team. It was a really collaborative and interesting morning seeing what everyone has been working on across care, education and hospitality, whilst sharing ideas and workflows. We wrapped up with lunch together at the pub next door, a Scurr tradition and long may it continue!
