July Round-Up
July has been a sociable one at Scurr Architects, with a number of team moments and fun summer activities alongside the usual studio activity.
It was great to welcome the McDonald’s design team to our Harpenden office for July’s Design Update Meeting. Always a valuable opportunity to collaborate, align, share updates, and keep projects moving in the right direction.
This month the full Scurr team came together for our quarterly office meeting. We wrapped things up with lunch at the pub next door in the sunshine, a lovely way to round off the afternoon together (with just enough Aperol’s going around to keep working after).
Harpenden
The team also took an after office stroll to Harpenden’s famous “Classics on The Common” car show this month. A brilliant display of automotive history right on our doorstep and a fantastic excuse to get out and enjoy the buzzing local atmosphere. Plenty of green spaces, a brilliant high street, and events like these are exactly what make Harpenden such a special place to be based!
Nazareth House, Hammersmith
Over at Nazareth House in Hammersmith, works continue to progress well. With scaffolding now fully up across the building, our team was able to carry out a detailed conditions survey of the external fabric alongside contractor O&D Construction, covering the Victorian stonework and brickwork areas. It’s always helpful to be out on site, observing and experiencing the refurbishment first hand. Getting up close to the higher levels of the building gave us a much clearer (and rarer) picture of what the next phase of development will involve.
