January Round-Up
Firstly, a warm welcome back to colleagues returning after Christmas. The new year has kicked off with real energy and enthusiasm as there’s plenty to celebrate across the studio, on site, and within the team.
Over in Education, our refurbishment project with Glanmire Developments, creating a new Busy Bees nursery in Binfield, is officially underway. Foundations for the single-storey rear extension have now been signed off by the RBCA and we’re excited to see the building transformed into a 75-place child day-care centre over the coming months.
Fantastic news within the education team is also the nomination of our recently completed Busy Bees Bagshot project, for ‘Interior Design Project of the Year’ at the, along with Newman Guage Interior Designers and G&V Contracts. Wishing the team luck at the award ceremony next month.
On site, we’re pleased to report that the steel frame for Wendover Manor Care Home has been successfully topped out, with the structure going up smoothly and without issue. We’re also delighted to see our work on Eastern County Care’s new specialist home in Clacton complete. We were invited back ahead of the home’s opening and are really pleased with the finished result.
In hospitality, our fit out design at McDonald’s Ilkeston has now been completed, creating another successful model building delivery within our commercial portfolio.
Part 3 Qualification
There’s also been fantastic personal news within the studio. Kat has officially completed her Part 3 qualification and has now been entered in the Register of Architects. She received particular recognition from her professional examiners for the high standard of her Professional Development Appraisal and oral examination, receiving a letter of commendation from the Part 3 Examination Board. Huge congratulations to Kat on an outstanding achievement!
Team Development
Back in the studio, learning and collaboration continue with our CAD Forum, where new tips, tricks, and workflows where shared within the team. We are always keen to encourage everyone to develope and improve their skillset and efficiency.
