Nazareth House, Hammersmith
We are working with Nazareth Care on an extensive refurbishment of their existing care home, convent and novitiate located in central Hammersmith. Hammersmith is both the headquarters and historical religious centre for Nazareth Care, being the first and original Nazareth House, constructed and extended during the 1880’s.
Restoring Nazareth House
The project comprises a full internal strip out, including significant structural alterations to the existing building, prior to the installation of modern care facilities which will meet the current space, fire and acoustic standards. Over 100 spacious new care and convent bedrooms, all with ensuite shower rooms, will be created by the completion of the project.

Phased Refurbishment
External works include the renovation of the exiting facades, repairing stonework, statues, stained glass and roof.
The refurbishment is being phased over four years and requires a careful balance between construction requirements and the needs of an operating care home and convent. Project phasing needed a serious team effort to create the finalised seven phase programme. Working closely with our client and consultants and efficiently resolving design and construction issues is key to maintaining the project timeline.
Site wide support services have either been retained, such as the separate laundry and plant room buildings, or complete replaced including extensive communal facilities and a new central kitchen serving all of the communities on the site.
