December Round-Up

As the year draws to a close, it’s time to reflect on what a rewarding and festive month it has been here at Scurr Architects.

Across the care sector, we were pleased to attend the opening ceremony for Phase 2 of the Nazareth Care Hammersmith refurbishment. This phase introduced new staff facilities, a commercial kitchen, and fourteen resident bedrooms, with further phases already underway. In addition, a planning application has been submitted for solar panels at Royal Star & Garter, Solihull, supporting ongoing sustainability improvements to the existing building.

Continuing our involvement in the wider care community, two of our Associates attended the Championing Social Care Christmas Lunch at The Dorchester. The event celebrated achievements across the care sector and raised funds for Barnardo’s, with insightful speakers and a festive performance from the Sacred Heart Choir providing a fitting end-of-year atmosphere.

In the education sector, it’s been a positive month of progress across several Busy Bees projects. We were pleased to see Busy Bees Stansted open its doors, following the completion of the feasibility work earlier in the year. Meanwhile, Busy Bees Binfield has officially started on site, marking an exciting step forward for the project.

250th McDonald’s Completed

This month marked a major professional milestone for the practice, as we celebrated the completion of our 250th McDonald’s project, with the latest opening in Ammanford. Reaching this number reflects years of collaboration, and considered design, and we’re incredibly proud of the team effort behind every one of the projects. A big thank you to everyone involved and we look forward to continuing to shape many more spaces to come!

Office Festivities

We kicked off the season with Christmas Jumper Day bringing some festive cheer to the office. Followed by our Scurr Christmas Party at Boom Battle Bar. The team embraced some friendly competition with beer pong, darts and axe throwing, followed by food and out of office catch ups. It was a great way to round off the year and celebrate all the hard work.

As we head into the festive break, we’re proud of all that’s been achieved this month and want to say a huge thank you for the continued trust, support and collaboration of our fantastic clients and collegues. We’re feeling really inspired and excited for whats ahead and looking forward to carrying this momentum into the new year!
