Pizza Hut, Gravesend
Located within the Imperial Retail park, the Pizza Hut in Gravesend was a free-standing restaurant with a barrel roof and recessed plant well. This was the second-generation model building, replacing the Pizza Hut dual pitched, hat-shaped roof.
Free Standing Restaurant
Our brief was to create an environment in keeping with the Pizza Hut concept accommodating the needs of their core clientele of young families, but which also provides different environments to encourage new clients. Our client wanted a more sophisticated interior design to attract teenagers and young adults.
The restaurant needed to include the standard requirements of a Pizza Hut restaurant which are the prominent buffet bar, the circular salad bar, the ice cream ‘factory’ and the open waitress counter, which are all important factors operationally.

Modern Restaurant Interior Design
A suspended raft ceiling over the booth seating projects from a feature wall, clad in ash veneer, with contrasting horizontal stripes, giving it a sense of enclosure and a feeling of luxury and grandeur. The ash joinery wraps round the circular booth and the curved wall which provides the backdrop to the centre stage salad bar with its illuminated circular bulkhead and giant pendant. Diverse floor and joinery finishes give varied textures in contrast to the solid, flat wall Lighting is carefully set out to ensure every table and every wall feature is illuminated bring the room to life. The atmosphere is further enhanced by the lighting which is set on pre-set dimmer system to create set scenes throughout the day or night.
