Sustainable Mixed-Use Development With Acoustic Design.
The planning permission for the site included a separate two-storey office building, located adjacent to the main residential building, to meet planning policy employment requirements. The design of this office matches the apartment building. Given the London location, external noise transmission into the interior of the building was a key design consideration. The building features laminated acoustic glass to all the windows and doors on the front and side elevations. Sustainability is integral to the design with solar panels incorporated discretely into the roofscape to provide renewable energy generation. Each apartment has been provided with private outdoor space with generous terraces on the upper levels and enclosed private patio and garden areas for the ground floor. At the rear the landscaped communal gardens provide a serene location and help to enhance the building’s connection to its surroundings.
